A choice of two tests to better meet your needs
IELTS is the four-skills test that has become the world’s most popular high stakes English language proficiency test for study, work and global migration.
The format of the test has remained consistent since 1995.
You can select the test that best suits the needs of your organization.
Both Academic and General Training tests are graded using the same criteria. The distinction between the Academic and the General Training tests lies in the subject matter of the Reading and Writing sections.
Test format
The test format and duration of IELTS Online is the same as IELTS Academic taken in a test centre:
- The Speaking test usually comes first, and is taken on its own, at a time selected by the test taker.
- The Listening, Reading and Writing tests are all taken together, at a separate time booked by the test taker.
